Aaron was born in Doncaster, England and grew up there until 2006 when he moved to Carrickfergus. Since then, he has attended primary school at Oakfield Primary School and is currently in his final year of school at Carrickfergus Grammar School. He has always been very musically inclined since a young age and his family have old recordings of him singing as a child and putting on shows for him family.

Aaron began playing violin when he was only 7 years old and since then has achieved his Grade 6 with a merit. He has participated in the orchestra alongside the string quartet during his school career and continues to do so this year. He is also a member of the Music Society Leadership Team and has received colours for his participation to the music society within school. However, his passion for performing arts came into place when he attended his first Young Americans workshop in 2010.

He heard about Uplift after his first Young Americans workshop and has been a member since February 2010 and has performed in numerous Dinner Theatre shows, the annual Christmas & Spring shows and also shows like ‘Showtime’. Since then, he has had unbelievable opportunities to perform in many places within Northern Ireland but also internationally in the United States. In 2014, he attended Dance Excellence in California, Los Angeles and performed in Disneyland California and was also selected to perform in the company show with the Young Americans. Alongside this, he has also been able to go to Danville, Kentucky twice in order to teach children the arts at West T. Hill Community Theatre. During these visits, he has been able to connect with youth on the other side of the world and was able to create a bond with the young people through performing arts which is a completely irreplaceable experience.

Recently, Aaron has partaken in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ in the MAC, and also ‘Rock of Ages’ in the Waterfront. Without the encouragement and teachings from Uplift he would never have been able to take part in these amazing experiences and he continues to do more shows like this in the future.

He is dedicated to the arts and hopes to continue to be involved with them in the future years. He is currently studying for his A2’s and hopes to continue on to some form of further education abroad next year, whether he goes to University or decides to attend drama school. Aaron is ambitious and works hard and is excited to be working for Uplift and inspiring children through the art of dance.
