Ellie McKayDance Coach firstname.lastname@example.org
Ellie was born in Larne in 1999. She attended Cairncastle Primary School and is currently in her final year of study in Larne Grammar School.
She has always had a passion for performance, which was nurtured and supported by her family as they enrolled her in drama classes, Irish and Highland dance lessons and classical and musical theatre vocal training. Ellie attended various performing arts schools before finally settling in the positive environment of Uplift at the age of 12.
She has been a cast member in over 25 productions with Uplift including Northern Ireland’s only Youth Dinner Theatre. Ellie began as a student in Uplift and has developed her teaching abilities through the opportunities present to her. Ellie had the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles and partake in an international dance convention called “Dance Excellence” with Uplift in 2014 and that same year she travelled to Kentucky with Uplift as a cast member in an cultural exchange music outreach programme. She had the chance to return again this year and share Uplift’s message and positively affect more children through the three principles of performing arts. Outside of Uplift, Ellie has successfully competed in numerous dancing competitions such as the Ulster Highland Dance Championships and the NICMACs. She has been a member of her school choir since year eight, along with senior choir, choral group and chamber choir. She has played Liesl Von Trapp in her school’s production of “The Sound of Music” and more recently undertook the role of Calamity Jane in the “Calamity Jane.”
Ellie has a passion for not only performing but for working with children and watching their confidence grow as they become inspired by the work we do at Uplift.
